Lentils salad, as a very healthy low carbs food, could not be easier to prepare: open the lentils can, wash and dry them. Do the same for white beans and put them in a salad bowl. Add salt, pepper (according to taste) &#038; vinegar. Mix, serve and enjoy! Simple, huh?<br />
<br />
<span style="font-weight: bold;">Caloric value, carbs and other ingredients:</span><br />
Extremely easy and quick to prepare; pepper is optional. Lentils is one of the healthiest foods. While it does contain 60% of carbs in total, 31% are fiber and only 2% are sugars &#8211; or &#8220;bad&#8221; carbs. Similarly, white beans also contain only about 2% sugars.</p>

<span style="font-weight: bold;">Caloric value, carbs and other ingredients:</span><br />
This salad is very easy and quick to prepare; onion &#038; black pepper is optional. As mentioned in other recipes, chickpeas do not have a very low carbohydrate content, but they do have the &#8220;good&#8221; carbs &#8211; with low glycemic index &#8211; and a lot of cholesterol-lowering fibre as well as vitamins and minerals, natural healthy fats and oils and a blend of enzymes.</p>
<p>Again, as mentioned, chick peas do contain about (mostly &#8220;good&#8221; ones) 23% carbs.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Lets face it</strong>, for quite a few Americans and even people abroad, times are tough right now. Stretching your grocery money is a top priority for most families these days, and unfortunately, it&#8217;s a lot cheaper to eat junk food than regular, highly nutritious whole foods. You gotta wonder why you see so many poverty level folks who are overweight. It&#8217;s because it&#8217;s easier to get a couple of double cheeseburgers and a shake from McDonald&#8217;s than it is to eat a nice piece of grilled chicken with fried zucchini on the side.</p>
<p>Because of the situation we&#8217;re in, I&#8217;m going to concentrate a lot of my posts on cheap low carb snacks and foods. Sure, in general, going on a low carb diet will hit you in the wallet, but, there are ways to eat on the cheap when low carbing, and let me start of with a quick snack that won&#8217;t drain your bank account</p>
<p><strong>Meat &amp; Cheese Roll-Up</strong></p>
<p>This is one of my favorite go-to low carb snack foods out there. It&#8217;s really, really easy and only takes about a minute to fully prepare. Heck you can even make a meal out of this depending on your hunger level.</p>
<p>First, go to the store and get a big package of deli ham, beef, salami, or any other carb free or low carb meat. Don&#8217;t get it too thinly sliced, and on the other hand, don&#8217;t get thick sliced either. Somewhere in between is perfect.</p>
<p>Second, find a good deal on a big brick of your favorite cheese. Usually at any grocery store, you&#8217;ll find quite a few cheeses on sale at any given time.</p>
<p>Okay, when you get home and are ready to eat, just get out 4 slices of the meat. You&#8217;re going to put 2 slices together (or whatever you prefer), so you&#8217;ll have 2 stacks of meat in front of you. Set it aside.</p>
<p>Get out the cheese, and slice off two generous slices of it, about a quarter to half inch thick. Put this in the microwave until it just starts melting, and then take it out. Quickly scoop up the melting cheese with a spoon and smear it on the meat stacks. (Picture it like a tortilla shell with melted cheese in it). Put a dab of mustard or mayo in it, and salt and pepper to taste, roll it up, and VIOLA! You have a very filling and tasty meat and cheese roll-up!</p>
<p>I&#8217;m a pretty big guy, and two of these is more than enough to curb my hunger for hours, although on occasion, I&#8217;ll make 3 or 4 of these and eat them for dinner. It&#8217;s very yummy and you can get quite a few of these out of a pound of meat and a brick of cheese. So have at it! 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Throughout my low carb adventures</strong>, I&#8217;m always looking for good quality meals that don&#8217;t cost an arm and a leg. One drawback of a low carb lifestyle is the cost (well, for most of us). Eating steak every night isn&#8217;t exactly cheap, but on the other hand, if money is the only object between me and my weight loss goals, then I&#8217;ll make it happen!</p>
<p>Anyway, one VERY quick and filling dish I came up with one night is nothing new, nothing special, however, it has virtually no carbs and tastes GREAT!</p>
<p>I call it <em><strong>SMO</strong>, </em>which is short for &#8220;steak, mushrooms, and onions&#8221;.</p>
<p>Making this dish is so easy that even I can do it&#8230;so I know you can.</p>
<p><strong>Ingredients:</strong></p>
<p><strong>1.</strong> One package (usually around a pound) of &#8220;stew meat&#8221;. It can be found in your meat department&#8230;it basically looks like a big steak chopped up into 1-2 inch cubes.</p>
<p><strong>2.</strong> One small onion, cut into whatever kind of sections you want.</p>
<p><strong>3.</strong> Half package of fresh mushrooms</p>
<p><strong>Directions:</strong></p>
<p><strong>1. </strong>Get out a skillet (preferably with a cover) and turn the heat on medium to medium high.<br />
<strong>2.</strong> Throw a couple tablespoons (or more) of butter in there.<br />
<strong>3.</strong> Dump in your package of meat, and let it just get brown, and then&#8230;<br />
<strong>4.</strong> Dump in the mushrooms and onions<br />
<strong>5.</strong> Add your choice of seasonings (I like to throw in some garlic and onion powder, with perhaps a splash of Worcestershire sauce).<br />
<strong>6.</strong> Stir it all up, cover, and let it cook for like 7-10 minutes (however you like your steak).</p>
<p>You end up with tender steak chunks and nice sauteed onions and mushrooms smothered in seasoned hot butter. How can you go wrong? Plus, the &#8220;stew meat&#8221; only costs a few bucks, and mushrooms and onions aren&#8217;t that expensive. It&#8217;s a nice little dish that will leave you filled up to the max. As a matter of fact, if you eat a salad or something with it, this can easily stretch across two meals.</p>
