What’s The Best Low Carb Dessert?
When you’re on a low carb diet, for some of us, it can be very, very hard to overcome the idea that you can’t cram down cake, cookies, and pie anymore. I don’t know about you, but I used to ALWAYS make sure I had several different desserts on hand that I could munch on throughout the day and night.
Anyway, since I began a low carb lifestyle, I quickly found out what I could do for dessert/sweet tooth options. There isn’t a broad range of desserts out there that are low carb friendly, but I have one in particular that I’m surprised more low carb dieters don’t know about.
What am I referring to?
Sugar Free Jello with Natural Heavy Whipped Cream.
I have two words for this low carb dessert….simply amazing.
Honestly, I don’t think I could survive the low carb Atkins lifestyle without it. Sure, there are a variety of sweet low carb bars, shakes, etc…but nothing compares to dishing out a HUGE bowl of sugar free strawberry jello topped with copius amounts of heavy whipped cream. YUMMY! And seriously, go crazy with it. You could make a meal out of it if you want (though, it’s not as filling as a steak), but it absolutely WILL crush your sweet tooth cravings.
Here is a quick recipe for making real whipped cream if you don’t have one handy:
Ingridients
14 oz. chilled heavy whipping cream
2 Tbsp. Splenda® (or to taste)
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Instructions
Whip the hell out of it.
Chill

I love eating jello but have always had it with regular whipped cream. I would like to try the natural whip cream and see if i like it. If i can save a few calories by swithcing to natural whip cream then why not?

I make a little parfait with sugar free Jello, whipped cream and strawberries (no sugar added).
I have enjoyed this as one of my desserts, and I have lost 70 pounds that way. Eating low sugar is a great way to be healthier and lose weight. I was once rather large, and I’m now back into size six for the past couple years.

Low Carb diet is generally associated with longevity as this causes less fat build up and less free radical build up inside the body. It is great for weight loss and the general health.

Yes. I do agree with Danny. Plain fruits are the excellent options if you want to follow a low carbohydrate diet. Why should you get into some serious health problems by keep hiking your cholesterol levels by heavy whipped cream? Thanks for sharing this wonderful post.

You can make pudding with glucomannan and other gums – the sugar free pudding mixes at the stores may not have sugar but are not low carb since they are high in starches.

Fruits are good, however, you must remember they are filled with sugars. Natural and healthy YES, low in sugars NO. Remember, sugars turn into fat. If you are debating between a piece of fruit VS a candy bar grab the fruit.
