List Of Low Carb Beers

Hey, we are giving you a low carb beers list! Why? Believe it or not, one of the main hesitations (especially for guys, but girls as well) of diving into a low carb lifestyle is the change in alcohol consumption. Obviously, any of your grain liquors are out of the question, but as I say, hey there’s always vodka! But even more depressing is the beer consumption.

Beer is jammed packed with sugar and calories, and is definitely not recommended on a low carb style diet. Luckily though, when the low carb (Atkins) lifestyle really caught back on in the last decade, savvy brewers saw the emerging market of low carb beer drinkers and quickly put a low carb beer out to market as fast as they could. The one that immediately comes to mind (and who marketed the “low carb” benefit on the bottle) is Michelob Ultra. Michelob Ultra quickly became the premier (and quite delicious) low carb beer on the market, and it’s still extremely popular.

But, just so you know, there ARE more choices. Some may even surprise you. Below, I’ll list seven low carb beers (some more than others), and out of those seven, I’m sure you’ll find one that you can drink pretty easily. With any luck, your favorite might even be on the list!

Top 7 Low Carb Beers That You Can Drink On A Low Carbohydrate Diet

1. Michelob Ultra – 2.6 carbs (one of the best and most well known low carb brews)

2. Miller Lite – 3.2 carbs (this one often surprises people, as it’s one of the top beers already)

3. Rock Green Light – 2.6 carbs  (by far, my choice beer in this list. And it ties for lowest carb amount)

4. Coors Light – 5 carbs (not as low, but still not terrible compared to others. Just watch portions)

5. Corona Light – 5 carbs (again, not exactly the lowest, but certainly not high. Portion control is key)

6. Aspen Edge – 2.6 carbs (not familiar with this beer at all, but if you are, great low carb option here)

7. Amstel Light – 5 carbs (not bad, but watch portions on this one as well)

So there you have it. If you’ve been putting off a low carb diet just because you’re afraid you won’t be able to drink any beer, then this should be enough information to know that you can indeed divulge in one of life’s sweeter pleasures, but as with any other food or beverage, you MUST,  I mean MUST watch your portions. It’s just like with those low carbohydrate shakes or snacks – just because it says it on the front of the package doesn’t mean you can eat three or four of them in one sitting.
